Don Eduardo Those little blackbirds Traducción : Cathy Eisenhower |
Sobre la experiencia de traducir a Diana BellessiPor Chris Jacox Kyle When I translate, I follow the advice of Muriel
Rukeyser who said "translation is "treason... and resurrection...it is
carrying over the music from another language." And so I listen
for the music underneath the words, the music of heart and mind and
history. With Ms. Bellessi's work, I feel I stretch English to meet her
music for it encompasses the colloquial rap of the streets to a complex
syntactical and imagistic symphony, often all at once. Her
language is like the "labyrinth " that Mistral speaks of in her work. I
must trust the imaginative leaps of Ms. Bellessi's silence, her
paratactical images and above all else, the complex yet unveering
movement of the heart. as it speaks. |
